Full string sound, sensitive shine from the wind instruments, extraordinary interpretations – this is what the audience appreciates the ArtistOrchestraVienna for. Conductor Werner Hackl deals intensively with the living musical tradition and focuses on compositions from the Baroque, Viennese Classical, Romantic and Modern periods.

The ArtistOrchestraVienna has become an epitome of high-quality music. The idea of a work-appropriate interpretation led to its founding in 1970. The artists are leading Austrian musicians and graduates of the Vienna University of Music and are dedicated to the cultivation of great works of choral and orchestral literature as well as opera and operetta. The size of the orchestra ranges from chamber music to a large symphony orchestra. Every single musician can point to great solo experience.

Through the joy of making music together, the orchestra has earned a permanent place in the Austrian and international music scene. Acclaimed concerts in Vienna and guest tours mark the collaboration with numerous renowned soloists. Traditionally, the orchestra leader invites young soloists who are considered newcomers.

The ArtistOrchestraVienna has been celebrating impressive successes for decades. In addition to concerts, the orchestra also organizes festive events. The popular concerts for and with children are an educational concern. Challenged in many ways by concerts and musical theater in Austria as well as in Europe, the USA, South America, China, Japan and Korea, the orchestra has developed a high artistic horizon.

Numerous recordings document his repertoire with many masterpieces and unknown treasures. Through a constantly growing repertoire, the ensemble is also connected to contemporary Austrian composers. International guest appearances led the orchestra to several successful tours to China as the ‘Vienna Palace Orchestra’.

The 50-year success story has made the ArtistOrchestraVienna a sought-after orchestra. Joint creativity, individually perfect skills and the desire to explore all the possibilities of a dynamic orchestra culture still characterize the orchestra today. Each individual musician presents himself as a master of his craft, with a unique stage presence and a virtuosic mix of creativity and spontaneity. The orchestra would regret having merely entertained its audience; it desires to reveal the beauty of music and introduce its listeners to the secrets of art.
