Rudolf Achleitner (1864-1909) Tiroler Adler / Tyrol Eagle, March
Rudolf Achleitner war ein österreichischer Kapellmeister, Dirigent, Komponist und Harfenist. Sein Vater war Salzburger Domchordirektor. Zunächst sollte er eine bürgerliche Laufbahn einschlagen, studierte aber auch am Mozarteum. Schon früh erwarb er sich einen gewissen Ruf als Dirigent und hatte ab 1884 verschiedene Kapellmeisterstellen inne. 1893 übernahm er auf Empfehlungen von C. M. Ziehrer die Kapellmeisterstelle der Corps-Kapelle des k. k. privat. Bürgercorps in Graz. Im Juni desselben Jahres wechselte er als Kapellmeister ans Stadttheater Klagenfurt. 1895 wurde die Stelle eines Militärkapellmeisters im 3. Regiment der Tiroler Kaiserjäger geschaffen. Diese neu er- richtete Stelle bekleidete Rudolf Achleitner bis zu seinem Tod. Zunächst in Trient, ab 1898 in Wien stationiert, wurde das Regiment mit Achleitner 1904 nach Bozen verlegt, wo er 1907 sein fünfund- zwanzigjähriges Dirigentenjubiläum feierte. 1909 wurde das Regiment in Rovereto stationiert und im November wurde die Kapelle zu Konzerten nach Meran kommandiert, wo er einen Schlaganfall und dort verstarb. Bekannt wurde Rudolf Achleit- ner durch den Tiroler Adler Marsch (Original: Erzherzog-Ferdinand-Karl-Marsch) und den Seyffer- titz-Marsch.
Rudolf Achleitner was an Austrian bandmaster, conductor, composer and harpist. His father was the Salzburg cathedral choir director. Initially he was supposed to pursue a civil career, but also studied at the Mozarteum. He acquired a certain reputation as a conductor at an early age and from 1884 held various positions as Kapellmeister. In 1893, on the recommendation of C. M. Zieh- rer, he took over the position of Kapellmeister in the Corps-Kapelle des k. k. private. Citizen Corps in Graz. In June of the same year he changed to the Stadttheater Klagenfurt as Kapellmeister. In 1895 the position of a military bandmaster in the 3rd regiment of the Tyrolean Kaiserjäger was cre- ated. Rudolf Achleitner held this newly established position until his death. Initially in Trento, sta- tioned in Vienna from 1898, the regiment with Achleitner was transferred to Bozen in 1904, where he celebrated his twenty-fifth anniversary as a conductor in 1907. In 1909 the regiment was sta- tioned in Rovereto and in November the band was commanded to give concerts in Merano, where he suffered a stroke and died there. Rudolf Achleitner became known through the Tyrolean Eagle March (Original: Archduke Ferdinand Karl March) and the Seyffertitz March.
