Richard Wagner, geboren in Leipzig, gestorben in Venedig,war ein deutscher Komponist, Dramatiker, Dichter, Schriftsteller, Theaterregisseur und Dirigent. Mit seinen Musikdramen gilt er als einer der bedeutendsten Erneuerer der europäischen Musik im 19. Jahrhundert. Er veränderte die Ausdrucksfähigkeit romantischer Musik und die theoretischen und praktischen Grundlagen der Oper. Er gründete die ausschließlich der Aufführung eigener Werke gewidmeten Festspiele in dem von ihm geplanten Bayreuther Festspielhaus. Sein Werke beeinflussten die Entwicklung der Musik bis in die Moderne.

Treulich geführt ist der Gesang, unter dem das frisch vermählte Paar Elsa und Lohengrin aus der gleichnamigen Oper Richard Wagners zu Beginn des dritten Aufzuges in das Brautgemach einziehen. Heute wird der Brautchor als einer der beiden berühmten Hochzeitsmärsche gerne zu Beginn einer Hochzeit gespielt.

With his musical dramas he is considered one of the most important innovators of European music in the 19th century. He changed the expressiveness of romantic music and the theoretical and practical foundations of opera. He founded the festival, which is exclusively dedicated to the performance of his own works, in the Bayreuth Festival Hall he planned. His works influenced the development of music up to the modern age. 

The singing Treulich geführt under which the newly wed couple Elsa and Lohengrin from Richard Wagner’s opera of the same name move into the bridal chamber at the beginning of the third act. Today the bridal choir is one of the two famous wedding marches that is often played at the beginning of a wedding.
