Johann Strauss II (1825-1899) Einzugmarsch aus der Operette Der Zigeunerbaron / Entrance March from Operetta Gypsy Baron
Nach dem Sommer 1885 schrieb Strauss an das Theater an der Wien: „Der Einzugsmarsch muß großartig werden. Die Bühne muß ein großartiges Bild werden, weil wir diesmal österrei- chisches Militär und Volk einbinden wollen.“ Die Musik mit Fanfarenklänge und die mit jugendli- chem Feuer auftrumpfenden Melodien begeisterten das Publikum im überfüllten Theater an der Wien und rissen zu Jubel und stürmischen Applaus hin. Die erste konzertante Aufführung des „Einzugsmarsches“, ohne opus fand am 6. Dezember 1885 im Musikverein zu Wien durch Edu- ard Strauss statt.
After the summer of 1885, Strauss wrote to the Theater an der Wien: „The march must be great. The stage has to be a great picture, because this time we want to involve the Austrian military and people.” The music with fanfare sounds and the melodies boasting youthful fire delighted the audience in the overcrowded Theater an der Wien and roused cheers and stormy applause there. The first concert performance of the „Entrance March”, without opus, took place on De- cember 6, 1885 in the Musikverein in Vienna by Eduard Strauss.
