Johann Strauss I(1804-1849) Einzugs-Galopp, op. 35 / Entry-Gallop
Es ist wichtig festzuhalten, dass es nicht so sehr Kompositions-, als vielmehr Aufführungsquali- täten waren, die den Weltruhm des Strauss‘schen Musik begründeten: die dynamische Schat- tierungskunst, die von Berlioz gerühmte rhythmische Koketterie und das besondere Wiener Vio- linspiel, idealtypisch verkörpert in Johann Strauss selbst. Die genuine Verbindung von Unterhal- tungs- und Kunstmusik, die sich in den anspruchsvollen Walzer-Introduktionen, originellen Tän- zen, aber auch in Opern- und sogar Beethoven-Paraphrasen niederschlug, vor allem aber die Präzision der Ausführung waren es, welche die Johann Strauss Kapelle berühmt machte. Die- ser Zusammenhang zwischen der Strauss Musik und einer fast kammermusikalisch zu nennen- den Präzision der Ausführung mag als Rechtfertigung für die unsere erklingenden Bearbeitun- gen dienen.
In der Wiener Zeitung Nr. 214 vom 18. September 1830 wurde der „Einzugs-Galopp“ erstmals angekündigt.

The genuine combination of entertainment and art music, which was reflected in the demanding waltz introductions, original dances, but also in opera and even Bee- thoven paraphrases, but above all the precision of the execution was what made Johann Strauss made the Johann Strauss Orchestra famous. This connection between the Strauss mu- sic and an almost chamber-musical precision of the execution may serve as a justification for our resounding arrangements.
The “Entry-Gallop” was announced for the first time in the Wiener Zeitung No. 214 of Septem- ber 18, 1830.
