Johann Strauss I(1804-1849) Einzugs-Galopp, op. 35 / Entry-Gallop
Es ist wichtig festzuhalten, dass es nicht so sehr Kompositions-, als vielmehr Aufführungsqualitäten waren, die den Weltruhm des Strauss‘schen Musik begründeten: die dynamische Schattierungs- kunst, die von Berlioz gerühmte rhythmische Koketterie und das besondere Wiener Violinspiel, ideal- typisch verkörpert in Johann Strauss selbst. Die genuine Verbindung von Unterhaltungs- und Kunst- musik, die sich in den anspruchsvollen Walzer-Introduktionen, originellen Tänzen, aber auch in Opern- und sogar Beethoven-Paraphrasen niederschlug, vor allem aber die Präzision der Ausfüh- rung waren es, welche die Johann Strauss Kapelle berühmt machte. Dieser Zusammenhang zwi- schen der Strauss Musik und einer fast kammermusikalisch zu nennenden Präzision der Ausführung mag als Rechtfertigung für die unsere erklingenden Bearbeitungen dienen.
In der Wiener Zeitung Nr. 214 vom 18. September 1830 wurde der „Einzugs-Galopp“ erstmals ange- kündigt.

This connection between the Strauss music and an almost chamber-musical precision of the execution may serve as a justification for our resounding arrangements.
The “Entry-Gallop” was announced for the first time in the Wiener Zeitung No. 214 of September 18, 1830.
