Carl Michael Ziehrer (1843–1922) Im Schwarzwald, Polka francaise, op.164 In Black Forest
Der Schwarzwald ist Deutschlands höchstes und größtes zusammenhängendes Mittelgebirge und liegt im Südwesten Baden-Württembergs. Im Schwarzwald entstanden erste Uhren bereits in der zweiten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts und seine Kuckucksuhren sind weltbekannt. Im Jahre 1737 wurde die erste Kuckucksuhr im Schwarzwald entwickelt. Form und Gestaltung, liebevolle und detailgetreue Schnitzereien, das System des Kuckuckrufes sowie das mechanische Uhrwerk haben sich bis heute erhalten. Diese Ursprünglichkeit ließ die Kuckucksuhr zu einem zeitlosen Produkt werden.
Der Komponist Carl Michael Ziehrer gibt eine genaue Spielanweisung: „In der Fermate hört man das Aufziehen einer Uhr, die mit dem Kuckucksruf die 12. Stunde schlägt“.
The Black Forest is Germany’s highest and largest contiguous low mountain range and is located in the southwest of Baden-Württemberg. The first clocks were made in the Black Forest in the second half of the 17th century and his cuckoo clocks are world-famous. In 1737 the first cuckoo clock was developed in the Black Forest. Shape and design, loving and detailed carvings, the system of the cuckoo call and the mechanical clockwork have been preserved to this day. This originality made the cuckoo clock a timeless product. The composer Carl Michael Ziehrer gives precise instructions to play: „In the fermata you can hear the winding of a clock that strikes the 12th hour with the cuckoo call”.
