Niederösterreichische Landeshymne / Anthem of Lower Austria (Ludwig van Beethoven)

Der Text stammt von Franz Karl Ginzkey (1871-1963), die Melodie dagegen von niemand Geringerem als Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). Dieser hatte auf den freimaurerischen Text von Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, “In allen guten Stunden”, aus dem Jahr 1775 zurückgegriffen und 1823/24 als “Bundeslied für Chor und sechs Blasinstrumente, im geselligen Kreise zu singen” (Op. 122) komponiert.
Die NÖ Landeshymne wurde vom NÖ Landtag am 12. Dezember 1965 (LGBl. 137/1966) im Rahmen einer Festsitzung im Gedenken an die 1. Landtagssitzung nach dem 2. Weltkrieg in der derzeitigen Form beschlossen.
The text is by Franz Karl Ginzkey (1871-1963), the melody, on the other hand, by none other than Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). He had drawn on the Masonic text by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, “In all good hours”, from 1775 and composed it in 1823/24 as “Federal song for choir and six wind instruments to be sung in a convivial circle” (Op. 122).
The Lower Austrian State Anthem was decided by the Lower Austrian State Parliament on December 12, 1965 (LGBl. 137/1966) as part of a ceremony in memory of the 1st State Parliament meeting after the Second World War in its current form.
