Tylman Susato (1510-1570) Tanz / Dance

Tielman Susato, auch Tylman Susato war ein Musikverleger, franko-flämischer Komponist und Instrumentalist der Renaissance. Durch die Aktivität Susatos haben sich die Niederlande als Land des Musikdrucks etabliert; nach ihm wurden auch in Antwerpen Musikverlage gegründet. Die Hauptbedeutung Susatos beruht auf seiner Arbeit als Musikverleger; er konnte pro Jahr acht Bücher herstellen. Er verwendete eine Notentype, die bis 1551 nur von ihm benutzt wurde, oder eine etwas kleinere, die auch bei anderen europäischen Musikdruckern üblich war.
Das Tanzmusikbüchlein „Danserye“ – Tänze für vier Instrumente in Partiturform mit freier Instrumentation –  hat Tylman Susato 1551 in Antwerpen herausgegeben.

Tielman Susato, also Tylman Susato, was a music publisher, Franco-Flemish composer and instrumentalist of the Renaissance. Through the activity of Susato, the Netherlands has established itself as the country of music printing; after him music publishers were founded in Antwerp. The main importance of Susato is based on his work as a music publisher; he could produce eight books a year. He used a sheet music type that was only used by him until 1551, or a somewhat smaller one that was also used by other European music printers.
The dance music book “Danserye” – dances for four instruments in score form with free instrumentation – was published by Tylman Susato in Antwerp in 1551.
