Johann Christoph Pezel (1639-1694) Intrada
Johann Christoph Pezel war ein deutscher Geiger, Trompeter und Komponist. Er lebte von 1661 bis 1681 in Leipzig, mit einer Unterbrechung 1672, als er in ein Augustinerkloster in Prag eintrat, um Protestant zu werden. Seine späteren Jahre verbrachte er in Bautzen, wo er (wie in Leipzig) als Stadtpfeifer und Stadtmusicus im kommunalen Dienst tätig war. Er war als Geiger und Klarinettist bekannt und veröffentlichte zwischen 1669 und 1686 eine beträchtliche Anzahl von Sammlungen, hauptsächlich von Instrumentalmusik. Er war einflussreich in der Entwicklung der Instrumentalformen und des Stils des Orchestersatzes.
Johann Christoph Pezel was a German violinist, trumpeter and composer. He lived in Leipzig from 1661 to 1681, with an interruption in 1672 when he entered an Augustinian monastery in Prague to become a Protestant. He spent his later years in Bautzen, where he (as in Leipzig) worked as a town piper and town musician in the municipal service. Known as a violinist and clarinetist, he published a considerable number of collections between 1669 and 1686, mainly of instrumental music. He was influential in the development of instrumental forms and the style of orchestral setting.
