Der “Festliche Einzug” – der ursprüngliche Titel hieß “Feierlicher Einzug der Ritter des Johanniter-Ordens” oder auch Investiturmarsch, AV 103 – für Blechbläser und Pauken wurde 1909 von Richard Strauss komponiert. Anlass war eine Investiturzeremonie der Johanniter, einer Bruderschaft, die noch heute auf der ganzen Welt in der Krankenpflege tätig ist. Die Originalbesetzung dieses Werkes enthielt Stimmen für 15 Trompeten, 4 Hörner, 4 Posaunen, 2 Tuben und Pauken. Strauss hat das Werk später für ein volles Orchester, einschließlich Orgel und optionalem Chor, instrumentiert. Eine Bearbeitung von Max Reger (1873-1916) sieht Orgel, 2 Posaunen und Pauken vor. Werner Hackl hat den „Festlichen Einzug“ für 10-st. Brass-Ensemble (3 Trompeten, 3 Hörner, 3 Posaunen, Tuba) mit Pauken verfasst.
The “Festive Entry” – the original title was “Solemn Entry of the Knights of the Order of St. John” or Investiture March, AV 103 – for brass and timpani was composed in 1909 by Richard Strauss. The occasion was an investiture ceremony of the Johanniter, a brotherhood that is still active in nursing around the world today. The original cast of this work included parts for 15 trumpets, 4 horns, 4 trombones, 2 tubas and timpani. Strauss later scored the work for a full orchestra, including organ and optional choir. An arrangement by Max Reger (1873-1916) includes organ, 2 trombones and timpani. Werner Hackl has written the “Festive Entry” for 10-voices brass ensemble (3 trumpets, 3 horns, 3 trombones, tuba) with timpani.
