Josef Strauss (1827-1870) Frauenherz, Polka Mazur, op. 166 / Woman’s Heart
Die stimmungsreiche Polka Mazur „Frauenherz“, am 6. September 1864 bei einem Festkonzert im k.k. Volksgarten zum ersten Mal vorgetragen, ist eher ein kleines Tonbild als ein Tanz. Josef Strauss wollte seiner Frau als Abschiedsgruß vor seiner Reise nach Breslau eine Liebeserklärung machen, Das Werk ist eine Huldigung an die Macht des Herzens einer liebenden Frau, womit er die Tiefe sei- nes Gefühls für seine Caroline in seiner subtilen Tonsprache ausgedrückt hat und gleichzeitig als eine galante Analyse aller Frauenherzen angesehen werden kann.
