Johann Georg Christian Störl (1675-1719) Sonata
Johann Georg Christian Störl war Chorknabe, Komponist,Hofkapellmeister und dann Stiftsorganist in Stuttgart. Seine Wirkungsorte waren neben Stuttgart, Nürnberg, Rom, Venedig und Wien. Er gab 1710 das Württembergische Choralbuch heraus, das Glied einer großen Choralbuchtradition ist, die mit Daniel Speers Choralbuch 1692 begann.
Im Sammelband „Das Erbe deutsche Musik“ (Band 14) findet sich ein vierstimmiges Werk aus „Sechs Sonaten für Zink, Alt-. Tenor- und Bassposaune nach 1696“. Der Zink kann durch eine Trompete ersetzt werden, wodurch die Sonata eine Bereicherung der 4-stimmigen Bläserliteratur darstellt.
Johann Georg Christian Störl was a choirboy, composer, court music director and then monastery organist in Stuttgart. His places of activity were in addition to Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Rome, Venice and Vienna. In 1710 he published the Württembergisches Choralbuch, which is part of a great choral book tradition that began with Daniel Speer’s 1692 choral book.
In the anthology “The Heritage of German Music” (Volume 14) there is a four-part work from “Six Sonatas for Cornetto, Alto- Tenor- and Bass trombone after 1696”. The cornetto can be replaced by a trumpet, making the sonata an enrichment of the 4-part wind literature.
